Position Description:
KT Engineering has an immediate opening for a Senior Liquid Rocket Propulsion Engineer to support a fast-paced launch vehicle development and flight test program. Engineer will support design, fabrication, and testing of a pump-fed cryogenic propulsion system. The selected candidate will support the development of engine system components; perform overall propulsion system analyses, support prototype and flight hardware fabrication, and support propulsion system ground and flight testing.
Engineer will be working as a member of a multi-contractor, multi-government agency team and may be required to provide work leadership for other team members. As such, they are required to have effective (oral and written) communication and interpersonal skills. The position requires a highly motivated, goal-oriented individual who is interested in “hands-on” development and testing. Limited travel will be required.
Preferred qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering (required).
- Detailed knowledge and at least 5-15 years of experience in liquid propulsion system flight hardware design, analysis, and qualification (required).
- Demonstrated proficiency in liquid rocket engine system design and analysis (required).
- Turbopump design and test experience is highly desirable.
- Combustion device design and test experience is also highly desirable.
- Strong professional/technical writing, oral presentation and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite: Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proven attention to detail and accuracy are critical to the position.
US citizenship is mandatory. All applicants must have or be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
