Position Description:
KT Engineering has an immediate opening for a Senior Avionics Design Engineer to support the development of rocket engine controller hardware and software. Engineer will support preliminary and detailed design, hardware fabrication, and hardware-in-the-loop testing. Engineer will define interfaces between the controller and the overall vehicle and ground avionics systems. Engineer will perform analyses to define power and networking requirements. Engineer will support component selection.
Engineer will be working as a member of a multi-contractor, multi-government agency team and may be required to provide work leadership for other team members. As such, they are required to have effective (oral and written) communication and interpersonal skills. The position requires a highly motivated, goal-oriented individual who is interested in “hands-on” development and testing. Limited travel will be required.
Preferred qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (required).
- Detailed knowledge and 10 years (minimum) of experience in the design and qualification of missile or launch vehicle avionics.
- Demonstrated ability to manage/complete projects on schedule and within budget while also meeting project technical requirements.
- Strong professional/technical writing, oral presentation and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite: Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proven attention to detail and accuracy are critical to the position.
- Demonstrated effectiveness at working with the customer to quickly resolve issues.
US citizenship is mandatory. All applicants must have or be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
