Position Description:
KT Engineering has an immediate opening for an Engineering Specialist - Propulsion Test to support a fast-paced launch vehicle ground and flight test program.
Candidate will support rocket propulsion testing at the component, subsystem, and system level. Candidate will develop test requirements, procedures, and plans. Candidate will support the definition and build-up of the test article, special test equipment, and instrumentation. Candidate will support the development of test sequences, test control software, and Graphical User Interfaces. Candidate will serve in a leadership role on the test team and support real-time and post-test data analysis.
Candidate will be working as a member of a multi-contractor, multi-government agency team and will be required to provide work leadership for other team members. As such, Candidate will be required to have effective (oral and written) communication and interpersonal skills, as well as demonstrated leadership experience. The position requires a highly motivated, goal-oriented individual who is interested in “hands-on” testing. Limited travel will be required.
Required qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Detailed knowledge and a minimum of 15 years relevant experience in propulsion system testing with cryogenic propellants.
- Demonstrated ability to develop test matrices and test plans, as well as accompanying software and instrumentation interfaces.
- Leadership experience, particularly in testing initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and complete projects on schedule and within budget, while also meeting project technical requirements.
- Strong professional/technical writing, oral presentation and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite: Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proven attention to detail and accuracy are critical to the position.
- Demonstrated effectiveness at working with the customer to quickly resolve issues.
Preferred qualifications:
- Demonstrated proficiency in the following software packages:
- LABVIEW
- WinPlot
- CEA
- GFSSP
- Visio
- ProE CREO
- Windchill
